“Körperobjekte” By Flora Lechner

The products we design can offer much more then just simply being fashion statements, or even super techy performance enhancing objects for that matter.
In every day life while we’re using them they interact and directly effect our body movements in significant ways. From our posture while wearing a certain shoe, to our walking gait and balance, shoes can have a dramatic effect on the rest of our body.

Designer, Flora Lechner recently shared her “Körperobjekte” project, where she delves into the effects that “things” can have on our bodies –

“The existing realm of things influences us in many ways – things influence our posture, our expectation of materialized shape, the way we utilize items and our habits. Objects that we use, have an effect on us while we are using them. Therefore, we are not dealing with passive tools. There is a formative power originating from all objects.” – Flora

Below you can see a pair of shoes/socks and soles with what looks to be some type of silicone sack filled with malleable balls. You can also the video below to see how wearing these shoe’s materials and size effect the wearers body language and ability to move.
