See The Design & Development Of Reebok x Pyer Moss Daytona Experiment
Reebok designer, Chris Hill recently shared a look into some of the design and development process of the Reebok x Pyer Moss Daytona Experiment, which debuted at NYFW for FW18.
“We used the idea of kids grabbbing any misplaced andf forgotten about clothes they could get their hands on and wearing it with confidence.” – Chris
Running on a pretty tight timeline, and taking inspiration from 90’s DMX running shoes, Chris created some quick thumbnail sketches that respected the heritage and culture of that time period, but were also clean and contemporary takes on those classic styles.
“The design is intentionally simple, so every line, shape and form had to be perfected so everything flowed together harmoniously” – Chris
Continuing the theme of misplaced/lost items into the materials, they used a juxtasposition of luxurious and sporty materials to give the shoes an added layer of depth.
You can see some of the initial design and development that went into the creation of the Reebok x Daytona Experiment, below.
