The Birth Of The Nike React Form Language

Seeminlgy involved in almost every Nike in the past few seasons I’ve fkd with heavily, Nike Digital Footwear Creator, Mesrop Megrabyan has shared some of the initial form language for Nike React.

A complex composition of merging, fluid circles, the React sole unit excudes a lightweight and disruptive form language. Added to that is a chunky yet fluid proportionality, a slightly chamfered heel and an always welcome, icey/translucent rubber outsole at the heel and toe sections.

You can see some of the early development models (created in ZBrush & Maya – with some help from the Adobe Suite), as well as some beauty shots of the final product, below.

Make sure to also keep an eye on the upcoming Undercover x Nike React Element 87 to see how the React form language continues to evolve.
